Yesterday, an interview clip of south star Rekha opening up on her ordeal that took place on the sets of 1986 film Punnagai Mannan had emerged on the internet. In the video, Rekha revealed that the kissing scene in the film with Kamal Haasan was shot without her consent. The actress claimed that she wasn’t aware of the kiss until it finally happened, and the makers told her to brush it off by thinking of it as a big king kissing a small kid.

Further, Rekha revealed how no one believes her when she says that the kiss that happened was unplanned and that Kamal Haasan knows about it. She was quoted as saying, “Only he and the unit that was there can confirm what I've said. Balachander sir is no more. Only those who were there at the shoot know that the kiss happened without my consent."Well, as soon as this news hit the web, it sparked an outrage and Kamal Haasan was unabashedly criticised from a section of netizens.

Some even demanded an apology from the actor for kissing the actress without her consent, even though it was for a film. Upon being asked if the makers or Kamal Haasan apologised for the same, Rekha asserted, “Why would they apologise, the film was a super hit! I got many films after that too, with Ramarajan and Ilaiyaraaja, like Namma Ooru Pattukaran. I don’t know about getting an apology but it is a fact that I wouldn’t have said yes to the kiss at that time. They just did the scene suddenly. It’s over now and I don’t want to revisit it.”
